Program Overview
This program welcomes students to experience and engage with the culturally rich and politically important West African nation of Ghana while they study at the University of Ghana, Legon. The varied curriculum (entirely in English) is perfect for any student interested in Africa, regardless of major or previous studies. Students will go abroad for the spring semester.
Academics
Students take a total of 15 credits in African Studies. The core course "Introduction to Africa", is complemented by electives in music, history, dance, political science, and more. Courses are taught by both Pitt and local Ghanaian faculty.
Financial Ease
With airfare included as well as the low cost of living it costs less to study in Ghana than to stay at Pitt for a semester!
