  • Annual African Festival – Friday September 28: 6-8 PM WPU Lower LoungeThe annual African Festival is hosted once every September as part of the International Week events of the University Center for International Studies. This year 2007 international week theme is “Your World Your Health.” The African Studies Program organized a session for Student Presentations -- students who studied abroad in Africa in the summer will share their experiences through presentations, pictures and video clips
  • Teach Africa Youth Forum October 30, 2007: 8 Am – 3 PM David L. Lawrence Convention Center Downtown Pittsburgh
    The Teach Africa Youth Forum is a major event at which students in grades 6 through 12 will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the African continent by interacting with African Studies leaders, policy makers, experts from Africa, African artists, and the local African community. The forum is presented by the Africa Society of the National Summit on Africa, The world Affairs Council of Pittsburgh in partnership with the African Studies Program.
  • Open House Wednesday October 24, 2007: 1:00 PM-2:30 PM -- this event will provide an opportunity for students, faculty and staff of African Studies to meet and greet and talk about their various interests in African issues. Lunch will be provided and all are welcome
