The University of Pittsburgh’s African Studies Program has over 40 faculty members with experience on Africa drawn from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds and interests such as: Arts & Sciences, education, engineering, health sciences, social work, public and international affairs, and law. With such a diverse group, African Studies provides several forums for faculty to interact and become familiar with each other’s work. In addition to the numerous activities hosted by the program, faculty meetings are scheduled once a semester and members of the Advisory Committee are also active and meet once a semester. African Studies hosts brown bag sessions once a month to discuss hot topics moderated by faculty. We welcome faculty with experience in Africa to affiliate with the program if we have not included you on the list. The faculty members are listed alphabetically by last name and their professional schools and departmental affiliation indicated, and you will be linked to their personal websites for information on their geographical areas of Africa experience, and teaching and research interests.
