Pitt in Tanzania

Currently there are two Pitt Programs in Tanzania

  1. Community Health in Tanzania - Karagwe District
  2. Swahili Language and Culture Immersion - Dar es Salaam

*Students planning to extend their stay or travel extensively after the program is finished should budget more for personal expenses.

Housing and Meals

Students will be housed at the western style guest houses with running water. Meals are prepared by our own cooks and include an abundance of fresh fruit and foods grown locally including potatoes, tomatoes, beans and bananas, Some options are available for vegetarians. Bottled water is provided as part of the program.

Application Deadlines

Rolling Admission: Apply early as the Pitt in Tanzania Program usually closes
by late November / early December!

ABSOLUTE DEADLINE IS MARCH 5, 2012

 

Admission Requirements

Sophomores, juniors, and seniors in any academic major with at least a 2.75 QPA are encouraged to apply. Juniors and seniors who have a 3.00 QPA or higher are preferred. Pitt students that do not have a 2.75 QPA will need approval from their school. If you would like to spend your final term abroad, you must also obtain special approval.
