Access International Education: Resources on Underrepresented Groups in International Education is a web site based on a project of the same name funded by the National Security Education Program (NSEP). The project, managed by the University Center for International Studies (UCIS) at the University of Pittsburgh, was aimed at overcoming institutional constraints affecting student participation in international education experiences, disseminating innovative models for overcoming underrepresentation in international education, creating informational aids for advisors and faculty, and developing tools for research on the issue of underrepresentation.

The web site features sections specifically targeted at students, parents, administrators, and researchers, respectively. Each section contains customized resources for the targeted audience, such as annotated bibliographies, scholarship information, FAQ documents, testimonials, or research tools.

The research section of this site will also be used to present information about an ongoing research project surveying institutional factors related to underrepresentation at all 529 public four-year institutions of higher education in the United States. This two-year project, funded by the U.S. Department of Education under Title VI of the Higher Education Act, commenced in July 2003.

For both projects listed above, the Principal Investigator is Wolfgang Schlör, Associate Director of UCIS. Keiha Peck serves as Project Manager.
