Mid-Atlantic Region Association for Asian Studies Annual Conference (October 28, 29, 30, 2005). 

Pitt’s Asian Studies Center hosted the 34th annual conference of the Mid-Atlantic Region Association for Asian Studies on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 28, 29, and 30 October 2005.  The conference theme entitled Asias:  Prohibited, Permitted, Past, Possible.  30 panels with more than 100 presenters.

Two performances were part of the conference. On Friday, Oct. 28th Japanese Lion Dance and on Saturday, Oct. 29th The University of Pittsburgh's Gamelan with Music Professor Andrew Weintraub.
