Japanese Pedagogy Workshop
Each year the Asian Studies Center, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh's School of Education, hosts a Japanese Pedagogy Workshop for area K-12 and university-level language teachers.
April 19, 2008 Annual Japanese Pedagogy Workshop
ASC hosted the Japanese pedagogy workshop for area K-16 teachers and college level instructors this year in Posvar Hall on the
Oakland
campus. This year, Dr. Yasuhiro Shirai of the University of Pittsburgh
led with the workshop "Shinde iru? Tabete iru? Teaching the Difference and Other Strategies for Language Acquisition," accompanied by Hiroyuki Good, East Asian Library Japanese Bibliographer presenting "Online Resources for Teaching and Learning Japanese" and Jennifer Murawski, Japan Exchange and Teaching Program 2005-2007 participant presenting "Reading the Air, Writing with Thumbs:
Introducing Students to Contemporary Japanese Youth Culture."
