Teacher Training Workshop
County-wide Professional Development Day

Women, Religion and Society Around the World

The 5 UCIS centers (CLAS, EUC, Global Studies, REES, ASC along with the PA Ethnic Heritage Society) are invited to submit a proposal by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) to hold a Teacher Training Workshop, for their annual “County-wide Professional Development Day” for K-12 Teachers. There will be workshops running all day long on Monday October 8 2007 (8am-3pm) on a variety of topics. The workshops will maintain a certain format, for the teachers will need to explain when they fill their ACT 48 credit form how they will use the material they have learned in the classroom. This year four UCIS centers; Global Studies Program, European Union of Excellence & European Studies Center, the Center for Russian & East European Studies and the Asian Studies Center, will be submitting a joint proposal to hold a workshop run by Pitt faculty and students, about "Women, Religion & Society around the World.
