Biography

Michele is the Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Pittsburgh in addition to currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the School of Education. Michele works with K-12 schools and universities in Pennsylvania and parts of Ohio interested in building Chinese language and culture programs. Michele was honored with a Confucius Institute Individual Performance of Excellence Award for 2011 by Hanban, the Chinese government agency that administers Confucius Institutes, and the University of Pittsburgh has received the 2011 Confucius Institute of the Year award out of the worldwide 350 Confucius Institutes and 500 Confucius Classrooms.
