Course Registration - FALL 2008
There will be two sections of this course offered in Fall 2008. Please click on the course name to download the course registration information forms in PDF format.
COURSE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN, and classes will begin October 7, 2008. Class will begin in October - for more information, please check this site or contact cipitt@pitt.edu.
- Beginning Chinese Level 1, Part 1 (For beginners to the Chinese language)
- Beginning Chinese, Level 1, Part 2 (continuation of Level 1)
Level 1, Part 1 is intended for absolute beginners to the Chinese language. Level 1, Part 2 is directed at those who have already completed Level 1, Part 1, although anyone with a prior knowledge of basic Chinese can register.
Textbooks
This course uses the official Hanban (Ministry of Chinese as a Foreign Language International) textbook series, which includes a grammar and vocabulary textbook (utilizing both the pinyin syllabary and Chinese characters), an exercise workbook and accompanying set of audio CDs, a Chinese character workbook, and a full set of computer CD-ROMs featuring video and audio presentation of materials from the textbook (PC version only). Textbooks are available via the Confucius Institute.
