CI-Pitt Offers Chinese Language Course - Fall 2008

The Confucius Institute at the University of Pittsburgh will hold Chinese language courses for adult beginners during fall 2008, to be held at the University of Pittsburgh's main campus on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Questions about this course may be directed to Mr. Huiwen Li, Special Projects Coordinator, via email to cipitt@pitt.edu. Class meets in Wesley W. Posvar Hall on the main University of Pittsburgh campus from 7-8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. If you have any questions, please contact cipitt@pitt.edu.

Family Night on China held at Frick International Studies Academy - 3/27/2008

The Confucius Institute and Frick International Studies Academy presented the program "Family Night on China" at the school on March 27, 2008, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Students and family members were able to experience Chinese culture and participate in activities with the Confucius Institute teachers and staff.

 

CI-Pitt Brings Chinese Opera Troupe to Pittsburgh - 3/6/2008

Peony PavilionThe Confucius Institute and the Asian Studies Center at the University of Pittsburgh presented a performance of the classic Chinese opera The Peony Pavilion (Mudan ting), held on March 6, 2008, at the CAPA Theater in downtown Pittsburgh.

CI-Pitt and Chinese Students and Scholars Association present Chinese Culture Exhibition Month

The year of 2008 is the year of the 29th Olympic Games; 2008 is also the year of China! In order to promote Beijing Olympic Games and Chinese culture, the Chinese Students & Scholars Association at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt-CSSA) hosted a series of events under the name of Chinese Culture Exhibition Month. In addition to celebrating the traditional Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), these events also included a number of Chinese cultural activities and information sessions open to the Pitt community and the general public.
