Dear CLAS Alumni:
The Center for Latin American Studies has been designated by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Resource Center (NRC) for 2006-2010. Information about you, our alumni, is crucial to our continued success. Please help by filling out the enclosed form! If you hate filling out forms, then e-mail the information to me at: juasenjo@pitt.edu or click here to fill the form below.
Pitt's Center for Latin American Studies is one of only about 20 NRCs on Latin America in the nation. (Others have included Harvard, Duke/North Carolina, Wisconsin, Tulane, Berkeley prestigious company!) NRC designation is important to our current and former students, faculty, and teachers in the region. As a NRC, we receive funding that allows us to: offer courses in Latin American music, art, Quechua and Aymara; provide fellowships; and sponsor a film series, conferences, workshops, and many other educational activities.
I am also writing to encourage you to keep in touch with us. We are interested in learning about your accomplishments! If you would like us to do so, we will share your news with former friends and teachers by including it in CLASicos, the Center's news-letter. (Of course, if you would rather not have this information published, just ask and it will be used only for an anonymous report.)
You continue to be very important to us. Please take a few minutes, fill out the form, and return it. Many thanks! Gracias! Obrigada!
Sincerely,
Julian Asenjo
Assistant Director for Academic Affairs
