Welcome – Bem-vindo!  In the summer of 2006, the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) at the University of Pittsburgh received a Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad grant to study the people, culture and history of Northeastern Brazil.  The five-week research trip covered many sites in the States of Pernambuco and Bahia in Northeastern Brazil.  This website is designed to enhance educators’ ability to teach about this region of Brazil.  Enjoy!
