Culture and Arts

N icaragua is a rustic land where horse carts are still used to haul supplies and the central plaza and adobe church still stand. It is a land of lakes, of volcanoes, of poets, and of a culture so diverse it would be next to impossible to capture it all. It is a land of firecrackers at 7 am, of perpetual celebration. In Nicaragua, life is a celebration with an array of foods, dances, sports and music to go with it.

The lessons in this section of the Resource Guide are structured to provide students with the flavor of Nicaraguan life, to develop an appreciation of the culture and creative spirit of its people, and to assess the impact of cultural diffusion.
