Partnership for Advancing Globalized Education (PAGE)

In collaboration with Pitt’s School of Education, REEES offers 3-credit pre-professional internships for Pitt undergraduates interested in secondary social studies education with a particular focus on the cultures, people, history, and contemporary issues of East Europe, Russia, and Central Asia. Preference will be given to undergraduates who are currently enrolled in one of our certificate programs or the related concentration.

Under the supervision of Center staff, a graduate student in the School of Education’s Masters of Teaching program, and a School of Education faculty member, interns will develop a unit plan related to REEES world regions suitable for secondary social studies classrooms in Pittsburgh area schools. In addition to the unit plan, interns will complete several classroom observations and reflections, co-teach three to four lessons with their MAT graduate student supervisor, and complete a portfolio detailing those teaching materials, lessons, and classroom experiences.

The PAGE program takes place each spring semester. We are now accepting applications. View the application.

Applications are due by Friday, November 19, 2021.
