The ESC also sponsors two academic and one policy conference a year.  Topics have included: Promoting the rule of law, accessibility in the context of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities, and language, literature, and identity in the European Union.

The ESC enjoys affiliations with numerous local organizations that share in the center's mission to educate the public about European Union and Europe.  The center's visiting European scholars and practitioners are frequently involved in community-related lectures, panels, conferences, as well as interviews for a variety of local organizations and businesses.  Some of these organizations include: The World Affairs Council, The Jewish Community Center, The History Center, and the Pittsburgh Symphony.

The ESC regularly offers events open to the general public. Events such as lectures, films, and seminars are publicized through many different channels including the center’s monthly newsletters, weekly email updates, Pitt newspaper ads and flyers.
