ELIANA CALLAHAN is a new member of the European Studies Center team. As Educational Engagement Coordinator, she develops relationships between the ESC and local and regional educational communities. The European Study Center encourages student learning about Europe and the EU, and it provides professional development opportunities to educators interested in bringing these topics into the classroom while meeting the PA state standards required for their grade level. ESC outreach programs also encourage the development and maintenance of educators’ knowledge of Eurozone languages.
Prior to coming to the University of Pittsburgh, Eliana taught middle school in Nebraska, substitute taught K-12 in multiple Pittsburgh area school districts, and earned her English as a Second Language teaching certificate. As the child of immigrants, she enjoys working with underserved populations. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and traveling with her family.
