	ConcateNations was cosponsored by the Department of French and Italian, the Office of the Provost, and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.  Participants in this interdisciplinary conference were be invited to take the noun ConcateNations as a point of departure and to explore the possibilities suggested by the link between two parts of that word, catena (“chain”) and nation. See event commentary on April, 2003' newsletter (page 3).
