Small Grants Program

The EUCE/ESC awards small grants of less than $500 each to affiliated faculty throughout the academic year to provide support for research-related travel, conferences, translations of publications, and to help sponsor visitors who will give a public lecture at the University of Pittsburgh on a topic relevant to the Center. 

The purpose of an EUCE/ESC award is to supplement departmental or other funding.  In granting an award, the EUCE/ESC requests that the Center be acknowledged as a cosponsor of any lecture or other activity that receives funding from the Small Grant Program.  The EUCE/ESC will also announce the co-sponsored lecture to its affiliated students, faculty and community members.

Application Procedure

Affiliated faculty may make a request at any time.  Awards for the year are made on a rolling basis until the funds available for the year are depleted.  Affiliated faculty may request a EUCE/ESC Small Grant by emailing the request to the Director, Dr. Alberta Sbragia (sbragia at ucis.pitt.edu) with a copy to the Associate Director, Timothy Thompson. (tst at ucis.pitt.edu)  The Associate Director will notify the requestor of the decision and any additional procedures.
