Approved Certificate Courses
The University of Pittsburgh European Studies Center (ESC) and the European Union Center of Excellence (EUCE) typically provide small classes (averaging 25 students), many of them taught by internationally renowned faculty. Such classes offer students the benefits of both breadth and specialization. Courses are cross-listed across departments, professional schools, and other interdisciplinary programs. Courses about countries, with a comparative and regional focus, and highlighting the intellectual foundations of West European culture form the program's core.
The EUCE/ESC also offers EUC courses to students in a variety of tracks, including political science, sociology, law, business, communication, economics, information and library science, and public and international schools and departments within the University of Pittsburgh. These tracks are the training ground for future lawyers, legislators, government and NGO service and administration, Congressional staff, journalists, labor leaders, bankers, information and library scientists, telecommunications experts, social workers, and international professionals
