Distinguished Visitors & Scholars
As an essential part of the center’s mission to provide opportunities for students, faculty and the public to learn about Europe, European integration, and the European Union, the EUCE/ESC sponsors and hosts an array of scholars and practitioners for visits of varying lengths throughout the year that cover diverse topics of importance to the study of Europe. Topics range from economics, security, and policy to multicultural issues in Europe and the accession of Turkey to the European Union. Noted visitor to the Center and the University of Pittsburgh in February 2006 was European Commission President Manuel Barroso.
