Fundacion Sierra Flor

At the Sierraflor Foundation, our mission is to provide quality education for children and vocational training and personal growth opportunities for young people and adults that live in Lasso, an Andean community located two hours south of Quito, Ecuador.

Children must be given the best start in life because their future and indeed the future of their communities, nations, and the whole world depend on it. Our Early Childhood Learning Center and Primary School help children grow up healthy and develop lifelong learning capacities that have long-lasting effects on both the progress of individual children and the wider progress of their communities and Ecuador.

We also believe that lifelong learning contributes to human fulfillment and positive social change and therefore we provide continuing education for young people and adults. Our Technical and Vocational Education Institute helps adolescents and adults acquire the knowledge, skills, and values they need to lead productive and satisfying lives and support their families and communities.

Sierraflor’s adult education programs also encourage parents to get involved in their children’s education because we believe that education does not stop when a child leaves the classroom but that it must be cultivated at home and in the child’s community.
