Travel Grants

GSC Community College/Minority Serving Institution (MSI) Domestic Travel Grants

Purpose: To provide funding for faculty from community colleges and MSIs to attend conferences or professional meetings within the United States for the purpose of increasing expertise in fields of study related to the GSC themes of global economy, global health, global security, or global society.
Eligibility: Full-time and part-time TS and NTS faculty (including lecturers and contract faculty) teaching at community colleges and MSIs whose research and teaching foci relate at least 25 percent to the GSC’s themes and use a trans-national and interdisciplinary approach. Amount of Funding: A maximum of $1,000 per grant.
Deadline: March 1, 2016

GSC Community College/MSI International Travel Grants

Purpose: To provide funding for faculty from community colleges and MSIs to attend international conferences or to travel with the purpose of designing a new course or expand an existing course that is trans-regional or comparative and relates to the GSC themes of global economy, global health, global security, or global society.
Eligibility: Full-time and part-time TS and NTS faculty (including lecturers and contract faculty) teaching at community colleges and MSIs whose research and teaching foci relate at least 25 percent to the GSC’s themes and use a trans-national and interdisciplinary approach. GSC Community College/MSI Study Abroad Scholarships

Purpose: To provide funding for faculty from community colleges and MSIs to study abroad and return with expertise to create a new course or significantly enhance an existing course. The new or enhanced course must include substantial coverage of one or more of the GSC themes of global economy, global health, global security, or global society.
Eligibility: Full-time and part-time TS and NTS faculty (including lecturers and contract faculty) teaching at community colleges or MSIs whose research and teaching foci relate at least 25 percent to the GSC’s themes and use a trans-national and interdisciplinary approach.
