The Global Fund is a non-endowed public foundation that makes grants to women's groups outside the United States that address women's rights issues.

Global Links is an organization in Pittsburgh that provides much needed medical supplies to countries in need all over the world. They recover unused medical supplies, surplus equipment and furnishings from the U.S. health care system for distribution to hospitals and clinics that serve the poorest segments of the population in developing countries. What sets them apart is the care they go through to send only items that can be readily used by the recipients.

For college students who are interested in non-profit operations, advocacy and global issues, Global Solutions Pittsburgh works with community activists and coalitions to help build support for a foreign policy built on the values of cooperation, teamwork and respect. They work with public officials and through the media to develop popular support for an America that works with international institutions like the United Nations to solve global problems like terrorism, climate change, war, poverty and human rights abuses. Green Peace values are reflected in their environmental campaign work: they 'bear witness' to environmental destruction in a peaceful, non-violent manner. Green Peace uses non-violent confrontation to raise the level and quality of public debate. In exposing threats to the environment and finding solutions they have no permanent allies or adversaries. Green Peace ensures financial independence from political or commercial interests. They seek solutions for, and promote open, informed debate about society's environmental choices.

The Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), the scholar division of the Institute of International Education (IIE), is well known for its expertise and extensive experience in conducting international exchange programs for scholars and university administrators. For the past sixty years, CIES (www.cies.org) has administered the Fulbright Scholar Program, the United States flagship academic exchange effort, on behalf of the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs  (ECA).

Amigos de las Américas (AMIGOS) is an international, non-profit organization that provides unparalleled leadership and community service opportunities for young people while concurrently contributing to the well-being of hundreds of communities throughout the Americas.

Amnesty International's mission is to protect people wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied. It investigates and expose abuses, educates and mobilizes the public, and helps transform societies to create a safer, more just world. Amnesty International received the Nobel Peace Prize for its life-saving work.
