As Director Michael Goodhart begins his sabbatical through June 30, 2022 to join as a fellow at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study in Uppsala, Sweden, we are excited to welcome Dr. William I. Brustein, Special Assistant to the President for Global Affairs and Eberly Family Distinguished Professor of History at West Virginia University, as interim director of the Global Studies Center during this period! Many will remember Dr. Brustein as the Director of UCIS and a Professor of Sociology from 2001 through 2006 and as one of the key figures in the creation of Global Studies at Pitt. He has had a long, honored, and distinguished career in international education, and we are thrilled that he is willing to rejoin us now.
