No The Peace Corps stared in 1960 through initiative of Senator John F. Kennedy. The purpose is for people to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. The Peace Corps works in emerging and essential areas such as information technology and business development. Three objectives are: helping the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women, helping to promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served, and helping promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.
