Latin American Studies Alumna Wins Engineer of the Year Award

N. Catherine Bazán-Arias, a 1992 alumna of the Center for Latin American Studies, is to be honored with the 2015 Engineer of the Year Award from the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania. She obtained her Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Bazán-Arias also completed an undergraduate Certificate in Latin American Studies while at Pitt.  She is a senior engineer for the Monroeville office of DiGioia, Gray & Associates, LLC. Her award will be conferred during Society’s Annual Engineering Awards Banquet at the Westin Convention Center Hotel in Pittsburgh on February 18, 2016.
