In Memoriam: David A. Murdoch, former UCIS Board of Visitors member

David A. Murdoch

Former Board of Visitors member for the University Center for International Studies and chair of the Advisory Board for the European Studies Center, David A. Murdoch, died on November 24, 2015 of pancreatic cancer.  Murdoch was a member of the Board of Visitors for 17 years until September 2014 when he stepped down at the completion of his term.

Respected as a global citizen who understood the importance of international understanding, Mr. Murdoch became chair of the Advisory Board for the European Studies Center in 2011.  He was an equity partner at the law firm of K&L Gates in Pittsburgh and also served as an honorary German consul for more than a decade until 2013.  Mr. Murdoch is survived by his wife, two daughters, a son, and two grandsons.
