The European Colloquium - a research seminar related to European history, societies and culture - will resume meetings in the History Department this academic year. The group will convene about every four weeks during the academic year, usually on a Thursday afternoon, and discuss current or recently published research.

The Publications Office of the European Union has announced that their digital library has gone live. More than 12 million pages from more than 110,000 EU publications have been scanned and are available free of charge for downnload from the EU Bookshop Digital Library. The Global Studies Program(GSP) is currently accepting applications from Pitt faculty for its annual Global Academic Partnership (GAP) grant competition. Three grants of $20,000 each are available to support interdisciplinary international research conferences or workshops on global themes. In addition, GSP is also seeking applications for a fourth GAP grant on Japan in a comparative context.
