Resources for Teachers
Educational outreach focuses on promoting international education by advising K-12 teachers, college faculty, and community college educators in the development of curriculum, with emphasis on language and international studies. Often workshops for K-12 educators are co-sponsored with The Allegheny Intermediate Unit or by area schools districts.
UCIS also offers seminars and workshops for college faculty in the tri-state area who wish to acquire up-to-date and accurate information on various parts of the world, who wish to discuss curriculum revision issues and to learn about the scholarly resources available through UCIS. Frequently the area studies programs within the center jointly offer such workshops. These programs draw faculty from community and small colleges, as well as other universities and act as a forum for intellectual debate.
