UCIS Small Grant ProgramApplication FormThe UCIS Small Grant Program is designed to enable University faculty to overcome obstacles in the pursuit of their international scholarly or scientific work, by providing small grants in a speedy and flexible way. "International" is defined as relating to another country or culture, comparative analysis covering more than one country or culture, studies of international relations or of transnational activities, or studies which examine topics related to global issues. EligibilityFull-time and part time tenure-stream, tenured and non tenure-stream faculty (including lecturers and contract faculty) at the University of Pittsburgh from all Schools and Departments, Centers, Institutes and Campuses are eligible to submit a proposal. Adjunct, visiting and emeritus faculty are not eligible. In the case of conference travel, the applying faculty must be a presenter at the conference or workshop in order to qualify for funding. Important: Only one application for UCIS central funds per project and faculty member is allowed. Dual grant applications for the same project to different central UCIS grant programs (UCIS Small Grant Program, Hewlett International Grant Program, Research Abroad Program) are not permitted. Only one UCIS Small Grant award per faculty and fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) is allowed. Amount of GrantSmall Grants cannot exceed $500.
