2006 NCTA Study Tour: "Japan: A Socio-Cultural View"
Gretchen Jones, University of Maryland, led this year's Study Tour Program to Japan in late June to early July, 2006. The focus of the program was to enhance an understanding of Japan's history and society through an exploration of Japan's literature and artistic culture. In Addition to visiting to some of Japan's largest cities, e.g. Kyoto and Tokyo, this year's teachers explored Tsuwano and Hagi, smaller castle towns in Western Honshu.
