La Gioconda was first heard in Sofia during 1934 with only two
other productions to follow: Ruse in 1958 and Plovdiv in 1983. The only
surviving recording from the Ruse Opera production c. 1958 offers only Acts I
and IV. Sung in Bulgarian it features Kiril Krastev, Maria Bohachek and Ana
Georgieva.
