The soprano, Valentina Aleksandrova, first began her vocal studies with Sija Voinikova. Later at the State Academy of Music she studied with Ludmila Prokopova and Petar Raichev.

Her career began in 1953 at the Plovdiv Opera. There she sang Marie in the Bartered Bride, Blonde in the Abduction from the Serail, Antonia in the Tales of Hoffman and Michaela in Carmen.

Additional roles in her career included Mimi, Adina, Susanna, Zerlina, Violetta and Marguerite.
