Serafima Dineva, soprano

The soprano, Serafima Dineva, was born 12 December 1919 in Kazan, Russia. She was the daughter of the musicologist Petar Dinev. After graduating from the State Academy of Music as a student of Mara Marinova Tzibulka in 1941 she continued vocal studies with Petar Raichev and Ilija Jossifov. In 1943 she studied with Muratti in Salzburg.

She became a member of the Sofia National Opera in 1941 with her debut that same year as the Queen of the Night. Major roles in her career included the Queen of the Night, Norina, Violetta, Gilda, Adina, Musetta and Konstanza.
