REQUIREMENTS

As a medium for showcasing high-speed networks, live broadcast of PILS events is intended for high-bandwidth connections, preferably via Internet2. Many events are archived for on-demand viewing after the fact.

Media content available via PILS is in MPEG-4 format. The simplest way to experience PILS video and audio is to download the free Quicktime Player from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/. At least version 6.4 is recommended for the best results.

During installation, you may be asked for a registration number. This is only needed for those who upgrade the Player to Quicktime Pro. To install the free player, merely click the "Next" button and installation will continue.

VideoLan Client is an open-source, multi-platform program capable of viewing a variety of video sources, including the streaming video available through PILS.
