Pittsburgh Romanian Studies is an interdisciplinary and intra-university group started by Irina Livezeanu of the University of Pittsburgh and Andreea Deciu Ritivoi of Carnegie Mellon University in 2003. It is now a registered student group of the University of Pittsburgh. It brings together scholars and graduate students in Rhetoric, History, Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, Literature, and Art History who work and study in and around Pittsburgh. We meet to discuss books, to hear and critique research ideas and work in progress, and to listen to formal lectures by invited guests. The group has an evolving agenda that adjusts to its members' needs and interests.
