By air: from Pittsburgh National Airport, take the 28X bus—the Airport Flyer, which stops at the lower level outside the baggage area—to Oakland (where the U of Pittsburgh is located), and get off at the stop outside the pseudo-Gothic Cathedral of Learning on Forbes Avenue.   One-way bus fare is $2.25, exact change needed.  Depending on traffic, the ride lasts 45-55 minutes.
