Study Abroad

Currently, there are two Panther Study Abroad Programs in Africa, and we encourage students to take advantage of these opportunities for study abroad in Africa to augment their intellectual, professional and personal development through both formal and experiential learning in another cultural context. Additionally, there are many other study abroad opportunities through third-party vendors that have been vetted by the university (Pitt-recognized programs). The African Studies Program offers a East Africa Field Based Research & Internship Program for graduate students and upper-level undergradaute students as well.
The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs gives students the opportunity to spend a term studying development policy in Johannesburg, South Africa at the University of the Witwatersrand. Contact GSPIA to find out more about it!
