Operations during COVID 19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the staff of the Center for African Studies is working in person and remotely in compliance with the University of Pittsburgh's policy, as outlined at emergency.pitt.edu between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm. To the extent possible, operations continue as normal, facilitated by electronic communications and in person when available.

Our Associate Director, Dr. Macrina Lelei, is in the office from 9am - 5pm on Tues, Thurs, and Fri and works remotely on Mon and Wed.
Our academic advisor, Dr. Anna-Maria Karnes, is in the office from 9am - 5pm on Mon - Thurs and works remotely on Fri. 
Our administrative assistant, Rys Shultz, is in the office from 8:30am - 6pm, Mon - Thurs. He is off on Fridays.
In most cases, email is the best way to contact our staff. Please direct general questions to Rys Shultz, the Administrative Assistant at rysshultz@pitt.edu.
