Rys Shultz is the Administrative Coordinator in the University of Pittsburgh Center for African Studies. He received his Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Pitt in Anthropology and Gender Studies in 2019. His independent research centered around understanding how white supremacists form communities online, and how understanding the formation of white supremacist communities can help us unpack and decrease the ideology of white supremacy. Rys is passionate about uplifting the voices of marginalized communities and learning from Indigenous movements worldwide. He is also an avid reader and writer, having published works in journalism, fiction, and poetry. He looks forward to furthering his education and spreading knowledge of Africa throughout his communities.
