Melissa Tabak

Melissa is the Administrative Assistant for the Center for African Studies. Her previous work includes teaching English as a second language and citizenship to adult refugees and immigrants, managing grants for local nonprofits, and organizing for presidential campaigns. She earned her master’s degree in Conflict Resolution from Brandeis University and her Bachelor’s in History from Pitt, where she studied abroad in South Africa and earned the African Studies certificate. Melissa is passionate about travel, and can’t wait to visit more countries in Africa. She’s excited to help students discover all the wonderful things about African Studies!
