Sharonda Watson was born and raised in Columbus, GA and earned a bachelor’s degree in History and International Affairs at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. She is a recipient of the Benjamin A. Gilman and Freeman Asia Scholarship to study abroad in South Korea. Before coming to Pitt, she interned at UNITAR where is researched how businesses could implement environmental sustainability. She was also selected as a 2018-19 Gilman Alumni Ambassador where she helped undergraduate students with their applications or provides testimony on her experience abroad. She is currently obtaining a Master of International and Public Affairs at Pitt studying Human Security while obtaining a Graduate Certificate in Asian Studies. At Pitt, she hopes to inspire more students to study abroad and diversify their international interests.
