Pitt REEES is proud to announce a new partnership with The Calvert Journal Film Festival (October 18th - October 31st, 2021). The film festival offers a journey across 28 countries of Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Russia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia through the lens of the region’s independent filmmakers presented across seven categories: fiction feature, short, documentary, animation, student film, minority language, and experimental films.

Launched in 2020, the first edition of the festival brought together more than 5,000 people. In 2021, The Calvert Journal Film Festival will screen over 30 films (completed in or after 2019), with prizes awarded for Best Film in each category and a special prize for Audience Favorite from any category.  A special series of features and online events will also run alongside the screenings.  As part of the partnership, free tickets for remote screenings will be available to the Pitt community on a first come, first served basis. Sign up to receive a notification when tickets become available.
