A critical part of the DI2 Initiative Advancing Latinx Studies at Pitt, this Dialogue Series hosts focus groups with students to continue to have a transdisciplinary conversation on the state of Latinx Studies at Pitt. This series aims to bring into contact faculty, staff, students, and community members and hear their vision of Latinx Studies at Pitt, covering three main themes, namely “Listening to Latinx Studies”, “Building Institutional Infrastructures for Latinx Studies”, and “Activating Latinx Studies at Pitt”. Each hour-long session is designed for us to learn from directors of Latinx Studies programs at peer institutions. We will learn from the success of their programs and ask important questions about how we might design and propose a credential in Latinx Studies at Pitt. The series is open to a l faculty and staff interested in Latinx Studies broadly defined.
