The Asian Studies Center’s (ASC) “Global Lenses” initiative seeks to bring East Asia to Pitt students, K-12 classrooms, and community members by creating full panoramic views—both still images and videos—of sites in East Asia. Using VR headsets, students and community members can take part in this interactive experience and hopefully be inspired to study abroad. “Global Lenses” also seeks to make the world a little more accessible to those who cannot travel. Two Pitt students who participated in the Pitt in Japan Study Abroad in summer 2024 for 5 weeks created a PPT slide presentation and blogs for our PittASIA website, both of which include videos and images from their time in Japan taken with the 360 camera.
