Argelina Figueiredo is a Professor at the Institute of Social and Political Studies at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IESP-UERJ). She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Chicago. She is a Researcher (IA level) at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and a member of the National Order of Scientific Merit. In 2025, she received the “Glaucio Ary Dillon Soares” Award for Academic Trajectory from the Latin American Political Science Association. Professor Figueiredo is the author of Democracy and Reforms? Alternatives to the Democratic Political Crisis: 1961–1964, among other books, and has published extensively in Brazilian and international journals on Congress, executive–legislative relations in Brazil, public policy, and political behavior.
