ASIA OVER LUNCH LECTURE – Noon in 4130 Posvar. Please feel free to join us for this lecture – all are welcome to bring their lunch or a snack along if you wish and enjoy!
This talk will introduce 4 new Chinese electronic databases the East Asian Library has subscribed to in the past year: Duxiu 独秀学术搜索, the Chinese equivalent of Google Scholar and Google Books; The National Index to Chinese Newspapers & Periodicals (NICNP) 全国报刊索引数据库, a powerful search tool for Chinese newspaper and periodical articles published from 1833 to 1949; Scripta Sinica 漢籍電子文獻資料庫, a full-text database containing about 460 Chinese pre-modern works essential to research in traditional Sinology; and SOSHOO 搜数, a website that offers yearly and monthly statistical data on social and economic situation of China.

Please note that during the fall term, this series will be held on Wednesdays. In spring term, it will return to its usual Thursday schedule. Everyone is welcome to attend.
