Jozef Ristvej, Ph.D., received his Ph.D. in Crisis Management from the University of Zilina, Slovakia-E.U. in 2007. Since that time, he serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Crisis Managment, University of Zilina. In 2007, Dr. Ristvej participated in the ISCRAM Crisis Managment Summer School for Ph.D. students. In 2010, Dr. Ristvej received the Ruth Crawford Mitchell grant to support a Visiting Scholars appointment at the Center for Disaster Management, Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, University of Pittsburgh. In his work, Dr. Ristvej focuses on the role of information systems in providing support to the decision making process in crisis management. He is a member of editorial board of Info technology journal in Lithuania, author of several scientific project teams. He is also a member of the ISCRAM Association (Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management) in Brussels and The Society for Science and the Public, in Washington D.C.
