
A presentation by Dr. Daniele Alesani, head of the Statutory Reporting Unit at the United Nations Population Fund, on employment opportunities and developing the skill sets required for employment with the UN.
Dr. Alesani is also currently Visiting Professor at the MBA of the Haute École de Commerce (HEC) at the University of Geneva and lecturer of Luigi Bocconi University, Milan. Dr. Alesani has extensively worked on the main issues related to managerial and administrative reforms, accounting change and adoption of full accrual accounting systems in International Organizations. His background includes accounting policy analysis, training, re-engineering of management control and information systems, implementation and support of financial systems and project management.
Since 2007, Dr. Alesani has been working to support the implementation of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) in the UN system organizations with the Chief Executive Board (CEB) Secretariat, first in Geneva and as of 2009 in New York. His recent publications include, “IPSAS adoption by the World Food Programme: an application of the contingency model to intergovernmental organizations.”
