This Friday, November 4th, at 2-3 P.M. in 157 Benedum Hall, Dr. Akira Takahashi will be giving a talk about the disasters in Japan as well as possible avenues of support. Dr. Takahashi is a Neurosurgeon at the Tohoku University Hospital in Sendai, Japan, and has been greatly involved in fundraising efforts to help those areas affected by the disasters in Japan as well as preserve and re-plant pine tree fields (an important cultural and environmental resource) swept away by the tsunami.
This is an informal affair, and all those who are interested are welcome. Dr. Takahashi will be bringing "SAVE JAPAN" t-shirts he created in Japan that may be purchased as a donation for disaster relief.
